Bruins Control the Bears and Win Big

The Bruins traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina and are bringing home a 4-0 win over the Shaw University Bears.

"This is another massive step as we look to solidify our momentum in the season," Head Coach Greg Fulton said. "We have been building and growing, and it's starting to show up in our results. The boys did a really good job, controlling the match and regaining control in moments where they are pressing. We know we are nowhere close to where we want to be and we turn all our eyes on the most important game of the season where we can solidify our region."

The Bruins shined all over the pitch in the first half of play. In the first 15 minutes of the match, the Bruins took control and were able to score two quick goals. The first one came from Dylan Poweska who was assisted by Jackson Reinhard. Just a few minutes later, Reid Burgin found Noah Burkett who scored his first goal of the day to give the Bruins an early 2-0 lead. In between those goals, goalkeeper Luke Provenzano made a couple great saves to keep a zero on the Bears' scoreboard. With time remaining near the end of the half, Burkett scored again to make it 3-0 for the Bruins. Right before halftime, Provenzano made another save to keep the halftime score at 3-0.

The second half was mostly possession and growing opportunities for the Bruins. They were able to tack on another goal by Jackson Reinhard who extended his scoring streak to six straight matches. The Bruins finished with a 4-0 win.

Now the Bruins have a little over a week to prepare for a fan-favorite match with Pensacola Christian College next Saturday, October 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
